Spanish Derby At The Mijas Hippodrome

In case you haven’t visited the Mijas Hippodrome yet, it’s well worth it, especially since it has been taken over by an English management team with a clear eye for quality facilities and service. The construction has been reformed and there is a lively restaurant and bar area. The Hippodrome recently hosted the Spanish Derby, where the prize total was a whopping €100.000. The race attracted entries from all over Europe, including Germany, France, England, Ireland, Sweden and Spain. One of the main attractions of the afternoon was the presence of nine-times Epsom Derby winning jockey, Lester Pigott, who would like to see the Spanish Derby take a leap towards international classification.
