The fourth bull run held as part of the Virgen Niña fiestas in Ampuero, Santander yesterday resulted in the death of two of the runners. Another 12 people were injured, three of them seriously in a bull run described by eye witnesses as butchery. The dead men have been named as 48 year old Raimundo Radre Hernando who was gored in the jugular vein and died from loss of blood and 47 year old Daniel Torres Santiesteban who died on the operating table after being gored in the stomach. After the run which lasted 25 minutes the local mayor ordered the suspension of the days festivities.
